EUSKALTEL is a Telecommunications Operator and CATV Operator (CableCo) in Basque Country (Spain) established in 1995.
EUSKALTEL is nowadays providing a complete portfolio of products and services including: Fixed Voice Telephony services – Direct Access (POTS and ISDN lines), Mobile telephony service GSM/DCS 1800, Cable Digital and interactive TV services, Data Services ( Frame Relay, Leased lines, Frame Relay, ATM), Broadband Internet Access (Cable Modem, ADSL), Wireless Broadband Internet Access (WiFi), Advanced IP Services (IP-VPN, Housing…), and Extended digital enterprise solutions as ASP.
Euskaltel is deploying its own network infrastructure to cover 80% of the population and businesses in the Basque Country and reach over 30 % market share by the end of 2007.

Institut Eurécom is located in the Sophia Antipolis Technopole in the South of France. It is a GIE (Groupement d'Intérêt Economique), a consortium under French Law. Its industrial members are currently Swisscom, Hasler Stiftung, THALES Communications, CEGETEL, France Telecom, HITACHI Europe, Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics and Bouygues Telecom. Since its creation, the Institut Eurécom actively participates in several European framework projects.

This includes participation in RACE Definition Phase, RACE Mobile Communications Project (R1043), RACE Advanced Time Division Multiple Access ATDMA (R2084) and ACTS Mobile Communications Services for High Speed Trains MOSTRAIN (AC104) and as a full academic member of the UK Virtual Centre of Excellence in Mobile and Personal Communications. The Group has held several UK Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) awards on local area communications and mobile communications and holds contracts from the Mobile VCE covering work in the areas of Interworking of Networks and Personal Distributed Environment.
